Tim Tebow, arguably the second most famous man in Colorado football, has signed a deal with Jockey to model their Staycool line of underwear. This is not the first time an athlete has been tapped by Jockey to model their duds. In the 1980’s, Orioles pitcher Jim Palmer appeared in these hairy ads:
Tebow shot the commercial soon after the season ended and then returned to Broncos headquarters to continue his off-season workouts, that is, until the lockout started and he was forced to take his exercise and undies elsewhere.
The ad campaign will start a nationwide blitz next week, and Tebow will be appearing at an event at the Macy’s flagship store in New York City sometime in May.
“I really take pride in what I endorse and what I attach my name to,” Tebow said. “It’s my character and what I stand for. Through my marketing company [XV Enterprises], I’m very fortunate to receive numerous endorsement opportunities and I take less than 1 percent of what’s offered, which is ultimately only the ones I truly believe in.”
