Brian Hoyer has helped the Cleveland Browns achieve a 3-2 record, punctuated by a 31-10 throttling of the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. And while brand after brand has lined up to sign Browns backup quarterback Johnny Manziel, one sandwich brand is thankful to have looked towards the guy who actually won the starting job.

Mr. Hero, an Ohio-based sandwich chain, secured Hoyer as an endorser back in the spring, before the Browns drafted Manziel. Apparently, according to Dan Traci, the man who was responsible for signing Hoyer with Mr. Hero, the deal is looking better and better for the sandwich chain.

“Let’s just say, as Brian and the Browns continue to do well, the deal gets better for us and perhaps less so for him,” Traci said.

What kind of deal was Hoyer able to secure? Coming off of an ACL injury which derailed his season last year and with the arrival of Johnny Football, it was unsurprisingly difficult to pitch Hoyer as a spokesman. Mr. Hero was able to get Hoyer for an undisclosed five figures:

Traci wouldn’t divulge specifics of Mr. Hero’s deal with Hoyer other than to say it’s for less than six figures annually, comes with incentives based on on-field performance and accolades and, if Hoyer turns into a real star, allows Mr. Hero the option to retain Hoyer for next year at the terms already agreed to.

And while that seems paltry, Hoyer does get all the sandwiches he can possibly eat. Profit?

We gave him some gift cards with this deal,” Traci said. “And let’s put it this way: He could eat Mr. Hero every day of the season and would still have money left on those cards.”

If Brian Hoyer continues to win games for the Browns, he’ll probably see more enticing deals in the future. Six figure deals and free pizza are just around the corner.
