If you watched last night’s Royals-Athletics Wild Card play-in game you might have noticed this woman, who was holding a sign claiming that her boyfriend/hubsand would buy her a puppy if Kansas City won the game. Knowing this, I obviously had to root for the Royals because PUPPIES OVER EVERYTHING.
The lady’s chances at a new pup were looking pretty grim when the A’s put up a five-spot the sixth inning, giving them a 7-3 lead over KC. It appears that the woman might have gave up hope somewhere along the line, because this was reported later in the game:
I got within three rows of the vicinity of the woman who was going to get a puppy if the Royals won…. And she has left the game.

Fans around her knew exactly who I was looking for, turned around and pointed to an empty row of five or six seats.

WHAT ARE YOU THINKING, LADY?
Very, very poor decision by that woman, considering the Royals were able to mount a few epic comebacks and eventually beat the A’s in 12 innings.
But the important question here remains: Does she still get her dog even though she bailed early? If you can’t even commit to a one-game playoff featuring your favorite team, are you really ready for the responsibility and commitment that comes with raising a puppy?
