Everyone’s favorite “indie” rock band, Death Cab for Cutie, just lost 1/4 of itself. Chris Walla, the band’s guitarist, has announced that his last show with Death Cab will be on September 13th. Walla has been a member of the band for 17 years.
Longer version: I think I long for the unknown. It might be that simple.
I will miss being a quarter of this band, and will support whatever course Death Cab for Cutie chooses from here. I am profoundly grateful to Ben, Nick, and Jason, for the experiences that define my adult life. Truly grateful, beyond words. Thank you.

While it’s a sad day for fans of Death Cab, some good news was revealed: Their eighth studio album is nearly complete.
But, if you’re still feeling down about the news, I highly recommend a heavy dose of Transatlanticism.
