Tennessee Smokies (Chicago Cubs’ Double-A affiliate) outfielder Anthony Giansanti made an amazing catch in Southern League action on Saturday night at Smokies Park.
The Jacksonville Suns’ (Miami Marlins affiliate) Ryan Rieger drilled what looked like a definite extra-base hit off the bat, but Giansanti had other ideas. Running full speed, Giansanti made a very difficult leaping grab on the left field warning track, before slamming face-first into the wall.
Terrific (and likely painful) defensive effort from Giansanti.
