Friday turned out to be a busy day in the NBA, both on and off the court. Obviously, the biggest news of the day was LeBron James announcing his return to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Meanwhile, the Las Vegas Summer League kicked off on the campus of UNLV. The first game pitted the New York Knicks against the Dallas Mavericks, and those in attendance at Cox Pavilion were treated to some monster posterizations.
The first victim was Shane Larkin, the former Mav who was traded to the Knicks in the deal that sent Tyson Chandler to Dallas. He was on the receiving end of a vicious one-hander from Eric Griffin (above).
Knicks rookie Cleanthony Early repaid the favor in the third quarter, throwing one down on journeyman Ivan Johnson — who crumpled in a heap on the floor.
