Reports began to surface Monday afternoon that indicated Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving was ready to sign a 5-year, $90 million extension to stay in Cleveland. While Irving can’t officially sign on the dotted line until July 10th, the two sides wasted no time announcing a verbal agreement lat last night. As you can see, the celebration over the new contract carried on into the wee hours of the night, where Irving did a little 5 am dance.

While $90 million would make anyone feel great, this has to be extra sweet relief for Irving, who got so fed up with rumors and speculation this spring over his future with the team that he took to Twitter to clear the air:
Sick to my stomach with all these rumors and accusations. Can I play without media guessing at my life and putting B.S out for headlines.

It brings nothing but negativity to the team and portraying me as something I’m not. I don’t want or need the attention, so it can stop now. — Kyrie Irving (@KyrieIrving) April 5, 2014
At least be man or woman enough to come and ask me. There’s no such source as “Kyrie’s camp”, nothing but nonsense.
