Phew. It’s over. We can finally stop listening to the monotonous, hackneyed questions of the media, the constant reportage on every ESPN show around the clock, and the endless unnamed sources who are most likely cousins of Melo’s barber’s prom date. It’s official. According to the Denver Post, Carmelo Anthony has been traded to the Knicks. In exchange for the famed 2003 draft’s 3rd overall pick, New York will trade “Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, Timofey Mozgov, Anthony Randolph, Eddy Curry’s expiring contract, their own first round pick in 2014, Golden State’s second round picks in 2012 and 2013, and $3 million in cash.” Felton, Gallinari, Chandler, Mozgov and the $3 million will head to Denver, but Randolph and Curry will be shipped out to Minnesota.
In addition to Carmelo, Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman have been sent to New York.
