Much as he’s been insisting this entire time, Colin Kaepernick has been cleared of any wrongdoing in an incident which occurred at a Miami hotel involving a woman and two other football players.

If anything, the actual story is even more bizarre than the originally reported piece from TMZ which suggested that Kaepernick was being investigated for sexual assault. The woman in question had to be sedated when the police arrived to the hotel because she began screaming about devils. No, really:

In fact, the memo by Assistant State Attorney Laura Adams described the woman as incoherent when police and fire-rescue officers responded to 911 calls to the room at the Viceroy Hotel. She had to be sedated in order to be taken to the hospital, where she was temporarily involuntarily committed for her own safety, the memo says.

“When she heard the officers’ voices, the complainant started screaming incoherently about Jesus and devils,” Adams wrote.

A hotel security officer told police that when he arrived at the room, the woman began praying, “asking God to forgive her of her sins” and began screaming in words the security officer couldn’t understand, according to the memo. She banged her head against the walls and started kicking uncontrollably.

There was no evidence of any drugs other than marijuana being in her system.

The background on this is even stranger. Kaepernick and the woman had met the previous year in Atlanta. She later contacted him to tell him that she was pregnant, at which case Kaepernick scrambled away faster than he avoids NFL defenses. She then learned that Kaepernick was in Miami on that fateful day and made arrangements to meet him.

The situation went poorly:

“I’m leaving right now I’m terrified,” Kaepernick texted the friend, according to the prosecutor’s memo.

Colin Kaepernick, a dude who avoids violent 300 pound men for a living, was scared out of his mind due to a woman and it somehow makes complete sense.
