Well, today is looking up. HBO announced today that Danny McBride will be returning to the network with a new show and it is already locked in for 18 episodes. Not surprisingly, Danny McBride will be working hand in hand with Jody Hill to bring the show to life.
According to a HBO press release today:
Danny McBride, star of the hit HBO comedy series “Eastbound & Down,” will return to the network in the comedy series VICE PRINCIPALS, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. The show is slated for 18 episodes, with the debut date and number of episodes per season to be announced as they are confirmed.

Created by Danny McBride and Jody Hill, who were also the creators of “Eastbound & Down,” VICE PRINCIPALS tells the story of a high school and the people who almost run it, the vice principals.
Freakin’ fantastic.
The closest thing to TV that we have seen Danny McBride on as of late is being the pitchman for MLB 14: The Show.
