Houston Astros prospect Conrad Gregor hit his first home run of the season this past Saturday, a three-run blast that helped power his Class A Quad Cities River Bandits to a 5-2 victory over the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
When Gregor looked to the outfield and saw where his first homer landed, he spotted his own father holding the souvenir just beyond the wall in right-center field. The 22-year old prospect’s parents traveled to Iowa to check out their son in action and apparently brought him some good luck, though you’d think a player’s parents would be able to score some better seats than those.
Maybe dad likes to sit out there because he provides a nice target for his son at the plate. You can’t really argue with the results, that’s for sure.
“He may have to watch every game from out there,” Gregor joked after the game. “When I got back to the dugout, I heard he made a pretty good catch
