Admittedly, I’m not the biggest fan of the shootout in the NHL. However, I will also admit that it produces some spectacular highlight reel plays every now and again, and I’ve got to give credit where credit is due.
During last night’s possible first-round preview between the Red Wings and Penguins, Pittsburgh goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury made this absurd save in the shootout to rob Daniel Alfredsson of what looked like a sure tally. Fleury flips on his back and seals the post with his glove before Alfie’s shot is able to sneak by him.
