After the conclusion of Padres-Dodgers last night, ESPN’s Baseball Tonight crew traveled from San Diego to Cincinnati overnight to shift from Opening Night to Opening Day duties. Understandably, that will take a toll on the analysts, who, like the players, are still shaking off the offseason rust.
Prior to first pitch at the Cubs-Reds on Monday afternoon, ESPN showed a couple photos of Karl Ravech passed out during the late night travel expedition. The photos were pretty great, but John Kruk’s reaction might have been greater. The guy literally could not stop laughing until the show cut to commercial.
“We honestly thought you were dead” was a nice touch, too.
