A nine-alarm fire ripped through a brownstone apartment building on Beacon Street in Boston on Wednesday, tragically claiming the lives of two heroic firefighters. On Thursday night, prior to a Stanley Cup rematch against the Chicago Blackhawks in Boston, the Bruins honored the fallen heroes by donning Boston Fire hats as they took the ice at the TD Garden.

Before the opening puck drop, the teams also honored the firefighters with a moment of silence while the Boston Fire logo was projected onto the ice.

At the conclusion of the Bruins 3-0 victory over the Blackhawks, the Boston Fire Department was awarded the No. 1 star of the game. Another classy tribute from the Bruins organization.
