Considering LeBron James grew up in Ohio and spent the first eight years of his NBA career as a Cavalier, you’d think the city of Cleveland would know how to spell his name correctly.
Despite the fact that James managed to drop 31 points in the first half (including a career-high 25 in the first quarter) of Tuesday’s Heat-Cavs game in Cleveland, the scoreboard operator at Quicken Loans Arena refused to show “LaBron” any respect.
I’m sure they’re going to chalk this up to an honest mistake, but I’m not so sure this wasn’t the intentional work of a still-bitter Cavs fan.
