Nick Prueher of the Found Footage Festival managed to finagle his way onto a handful of morning news shows in the Midwest this past holiday season, posing as a chef named Keith Guerke. “Guerke’s” mission: promote his (non-existent) cookbook, and serve unsuspecting reporters bizarre and disgusting holiday dishes made from leftovers. Sure, cold ham sounds good — just not in smoothie form and mixed corn, green beans and gravy. The same could be said for a mashed potato “ice cream” cone, with, um, corn sprinkles.
If you’re wondering how Prueher managed to appear on five TV stations across Illinois and Wisconsin, he chalks it up to producers needing to fill holiday programming segments.
