The Spurs and Mavericks went head-to-head on Sunday night in San Antonio and Tim Duncan used the occasion to drill one of the most ridiculous baskets of this NBA season.
Camped under the basket with just over five minutes remaining in the Spurs win, Duncan was fouled from behind by Mavs forward Brandon Wright, who was a little too eager in attempting a shot block.
Duncan looked like he just wanted to get a shot up so that the foul would send him to the free throw line and – by some miracle – the wild circus shot wound up banking off the backboard and in with the help of some nice spin.
The reaction from Dallas players pretty much said it all.
