A lot of questions were raised when Brian Burke left Bobby Ryan – one of the purest goal scorers in the National Hockey League – off his Team USA roster for the Sochi Olympics.
Asked about Ryan after the team had been announced, this is a portion of what Burke had to say about the Senators forward, who was a part of Burke’s Stanley Cup winning roster in Anaheim in 2007:
“He is not intense. That word is not in his vocabulary,” Burke says. “It’s never going to be in his vocabulary. He can’t spell intense.”
Well, somebody on Reddit uploaded the above autographed photo of Ryan, who appears to hilariously prove Burke wrong by writing “Intense!” above his name on the picture. The signature seems to be legit, but there’s always the chance that the extra little tidbit was the work of someone other than Ryan. I really hope that’s not the case, because this is just wonderful.
