It’s no secret that Philadelphia is home to some of the most “passionate” fans in sports, but Phillies pitcher Cliff Lee was probably a little weirded out by a recent gesture by one fan that was bizarre even for Philly’s standards.
Tidbit from #Phillies camp today: Somebody mailed Cliff Lee their fingernail clippings. The perks of celebrity. #FanNail

Yup, some weirdo sent Lee their fingernail clippings in the mail. I’m not sure what that’s supposed to mean – is it a show of support, or a gross souvenir from a Cliff hater? Either way, that’s more than a little unsettling. Sounds like the kind of thing you’d expect to come from a horror movie, not Spring Training.
Stay safe, Cliff.
