The Brooklyn Nets beat the Atlanta Hawks 127-110 today in another installment of the NBA’s London showcase that will perhaps be best remembered for David Stern’s final press conference. While neither team necessarily fit the bill of a marquee matchup — both teams are hovering near or well below .500 — Nets play-by-play man Ian Eagle showed why he’s still one of the best in the business. Late in the first quarter, Ian, who apparently fancies himself a “when in Rome (err…London)…” type of guy, directed some naughty British slang at his broadcasting partner, color commentator Jim Spanarkel.
