Apple has updated its “All-Time Top Apps” in the App Store to show the top free and paid apps for both the iPhone and iPad from the past year. As part of Apple’s Countdown to 10 Billion campaign, Apple’s update to the top apps gives us insight to the purchases made by iPhone and iPad users.
All-Time Top Paid iPhone Apps – iPhone users love paying for games—Doodle Jump, Tap Tap Revenge 3, Pocket God, and Angry Birds took the one through four spots. It’s not until #9 do we see a utility, AppBox Pro, break the game streak.
All-Time Top Free iPhone Apps – iPhone users diversify their app catalog without seeing a game in the top ranks until #8, Paper Toss. In seats one through four we have Facebook, Pandora Radio, Google Mobile App, and Shazam.
All-Time Top Paid iPad Apps – iPad users are purchasing a great mix of apps, many of which have been excellent since day one. Soundhound, StickWars, FlightTrack, and Backbreaker Football are ranked #1-4. Some noteworthy titles that I enjoy and also ranked high are 1Password Pro, Air Video, LogMeIn Ignition, and Todo for iPad.
All-Time Top Free iPad Apps – iPad freeloaders are downloading in masses what I find to be the most boring apps (#1-4): Pandora Radio, Google Mobile App, Movies by Flixster, and Google Earth.
