The Chicago Bulls released a brief statement regarding the injury Derrick Rose suffered during the Bulls’ 98-95 loss to the Portland Trailblazers Friday night:
November 23, 2013 — Bulls guard Derrick Rose sustained an injury to his right knee against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night.
Subsequent examinations and an MRI confirmed a medial meniscus tear to his right knee, which will require surgery. Rose is out indefinitely, and will not accompany the team on the rest of its current road trip.
According to NBA.com’s David Aldridge, if the tear is similar to the one Russell Westbrook suffered in the 2013 playoffs, Rose could return this season. If it requires shaving, then it could be much worse. Either way, it’ll be awhile before we see him on the floor again, which, of course, fucking sucks.
