If Thursday night’s game between the Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder is a preview of what the Western Conference playoffs could look like, I might just have to take a month off of work and not leave my TV room. The game of the year (so far) came down to a pair of last second shots from two London Olympians — one just happened to be a little more last-second than the other.
At one point, the Warriors appeared to be running away from the Thunder, building up a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter against a Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook-less second unit. Durant had picked up his fifth foul moments into the quarter, but upon re-entering with Westbrook, the two brought OKC back to within two with about 14 seconds remaining. Reggie Jackson Kevin Durant swung the ball to Westbrook, who pulled up for a deep three point shot that found the bottom of the net, leaving 2.3 seconds on the clock — just enough time for Golden State to inbound the ball to Andre Iguodala, who hit a sweet baseline fadeaway dagger for the win.
