Soooooooo…this is awkward. The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Chicago Bulls Saturday night 107-104, putting their record at 3-0 overall, which is pretty much the complete opposite of what they’re supposed to be doing (or, what everyone expected them to do): tanking for the #1 pick in next year’s NBA Draft.
Derrick Rose played one of his worst games as a professional basketball player (13 points, 6 assists, 8 turnovers), while Michael Carter-Williams played the second-best game of his career (26 points, 10 assists). The Bulls led by as many as 20 points in the first half, and seemed to be running away with the game. But Philly managed to hang around by dropping timely threes, before pulling close late.
