Part of the magic of England’s FA Cup is that teams from the lower leagues get to take their cracks at the big boys. And sometimes they win. Yesterday saw the first major upset of this year’s FA Cup when fourth division team Stevenage, beat the Premiership’s Newcastle United 3-1.
The upset sent Stevenage fans into delerium, and many rushed field to celebrate with the team.
That is, most of them. One Stevenage fan was so upset by the upset, he delivered a blow that would fill Dee-Bo with pride, decking defender Scott Laird.
No word on the reason for the attack and police are investigating the incident.
