Seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady has established himself as the most accomplished player in the history of the NFL, and now he’ll be ushered into retirement in a very entertaining way – with a comedic roast.

On Monday, Netflix announced that the streaming platform will broadcast a live roast of Tom Brady hosted by comedian Kevin Hart, who will be joined by “an all-star lineup” of people roasting the NFL legend.

“The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady will be LIVE on Netflix on May 5 at 8pm ET / 5pm PT. Hosted by Kevin Hart with an all-star lineup of surprise roasters. No Brady Rule. No Pads. No Mercy,” Netflix said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Typically, celebrity roasts include friends, family and comedians telling jokes at the expense of the celebrity and for the comedic pleasure of the viewing audience. Netflix has not yet revealed who will be participating in the roast of Brady, but it’s safe to assume that some NFL stars who spent time with Brady over the years will be included.

Obviously, this is a significant announcement, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media.

We’ll have to see how the roast goes.
