Ohio State and Michigan Ohio State and Michigan

After spending two seasons with the Ohio State Buckeyes and emerging as a star for the team, it sounds like veteran guard Roddy Gayle Jr. has decided to switch sides in the rivalry and sign with the Michigan Wolverines.

According to a report from Joe Tipton of On3, Roddy Gayle Jr. has decided to sign with the Michigan Wolverines after entering the transfer portal earlier this offseason.

“BREAKING: Ohio State transfer guard Roddy Gayle Jr. has committed to Michigan, he tells @On3sports. The 6-4 sophomore averaged 13.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game this season,” said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Gayle entered the transfer portal earlier this year after the Buckeyes decided to name interim head coach Jake Diebler the team’s new full-time head coach in replacement of Chris Holtmann, who was fired during the season.

Needless to say, Gayle’s decision to switch sides in such a heated college rivalry led to a lot of reactions on social media.

It’s safe to say that this decision from Gayle will likely add a little fuel to the rivalry between these two teams, especially when he suits up against the Buckeyes.
