New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone has been ejected from a fair number of games throughout his career as the team’s manager, and he’s probably deserved most of those ejections. But he certainly didn’t deserve to be thrown out of Monday afternoon’s game against the Oakland A’s.
During the first inning of Monday afternoon’s game, Aaron Boone was given a warning from home plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt after he voiced his displeasure with A’s leadoff hitter Esteury Ruiz getting awarded first base on a hit by pitch.
“You’re not yelling at me. I did what I was supposed to do and checked. I’m looking for him to get hit by the pitch. Got anything else to say, you’re gone, okay?” Wendelstedt said.

Boone did not say a word after he was given the warning from Wendelstedt, but he was quickly thrown out anyway after the umpire mistook a fan’s heckling as Boone continuing to argue the call.
Understandably, Boone was confused and outraged as he quickly threw his arms up into the air and said “I didn’t say anything!” But Wendelstedt didn’t want to hear it, saying “I don’t care who said it. You’re gone!”
“What do you mean you don’t care?” Boone said. “I did not say a word.”
