Taylor Swift officially released her new album The Tortured Poets Department on Friday and it had some pretty clear references to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. But perhaps more entertaining than the clear references are the far more subtle callouts that only some of their biggest fans would catch.
In the two songs about Travis Kelce – “The Alchemy” and “So High School” – Taylor Swift calls out her boyfriend for a few humorous things that happened on social media during the beginning of their relationship.
In her song “The Alchemy,” which quite clearly references Kelce and the Kansas City Cheifs’ recent Super Bowl victory throughout the song, Swift wrote the lyric “I circled you on a map” which appears to be a subtle reference to all of the fans who claimed that Swift put Kelce “on the map” early in their relationship. Kelce even referenced Swift “putting him on the map” in one of his podcast episodes.

Swift also subtly called out Kelce for another thing that went viral on social media early in their relationship. Shortly after Kelce began dating Swift, an old video resurfaced of Kelce playing “kiss, marry, kill” with a few celebrities including Swift in which Kelce chose to “kiss” Swift and “marry” Katy Perry.
"are you going to marry, kiss or k!ll me” – so high school

In her song “So High School,” Swift made pretty clear reference to this resurfaced video, saying “Are you gonna marry, kiss, or kill me?”
It’s certainly interesting to hear her jokingly call out Kelce in her songs.
