This week, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce received a lot of criticism on social media when a video went viral showing him chugging a beer and spiking it on the ground to celebrate receiving his diploma from the University of Cincinnati. But Taylor Swift fans quickly came to the defense of the pop star’s boyfriend.
In response to the viral video of Travis Kelce chugging the beer, a fan asked Jason Kelce to “please question your brother for the graduation antics.” Jason quickly explained that this actually wasn’t a real graduation ceremony.
“I know it looks like a graduation from the video, but this was actually at the end of a New Heights Live podcast that we put on to raise money for the University’s NIL. The university did this to poke fun at my brother and I for never really picking up our diplomas,” said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
This response from Jason led many Taylor Swift fans to offer their support for Travis Kelce, defending his actions.
