Deion Sanders is heading into his second season as the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, but unfortunately for him, it sounds like he will be losing one of his most promising young players.

According to a report from Hayes Fawcett of On3, former five-star cornerback Cormani McClain has decided to enter the transfer portal after just one season playing for the Colorado Buffaloes and head coach Deion Sanders.

“BREAKING: Colorado CB Cormani McClain plans to enter the Transfer Portal, he tells @on3sports. The 6’3 173 CB from Lakeland, FL was ranked as the No. 1 CB in the ‘23 Class (per On3). Will have 4 years of eligibility remaining,” Fawcett said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

McClain was the highest-rated player to sign with the Buffaloes out of high school in the 2023 recruiting class, so his decision to leave the team obviously led to a lot of reactions on social media.

Last season, McClain did not see a lot of action last season as a true freshman. He appeared in just nine games throughout the season last year, starting four of them. In those games, McClain totaled 13 total tackles and two pass breakups.
