Bill Belichick David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

While the NFL’s coaching carousel concluded without Bill Belichick having a seat this offseason, the six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach isn’t staying on the sideline for long.

On Wednesday’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Pat McAfee announced that Belichick will be joining the program for its Draft Spectacular simulcast during the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit next week. The move marks the 72-year-old’s first gig in the media since parting ways with the New England Patriots following the conclusion of the 2023 season.

“I’m looking forward to it. Draft day, draft weekend’s always an exciting time for everybody. For the teams that are building their teams and the fans and everybody involved in it. It’s a great event,” Belichick said while appearing on the show on Wednesday. “I’m looking forward to seeing it from the other side.”

Considering the competition heading into next week’s draft, landing Belichick for his simulcast is a major get for McAfee, who has been publicly recruiting the 3-time Coach of the Year to appear on his show for the past few months. As for Belichick’s long term outlook in the media, ESPN reported earlier on Wednesday that he is expected to announce an agreement with Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions in the near future.
