The Minnesota Vikings are in need of a new starting quarterback after previous starter Kirk Cousins left the team and signed with the Atlanta Falcons as a free agent this offseason. And even though the team did bring in Sam Darnold to potentially fill that role, it sounds like they aren’t ruling out the possibility of selecting a top quarterback in the NFL Draft.

According to a report from league insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Minnesota Vikings have decided to meet with LSU Tigers star quarterback Jayden Daniels ahead of the upcoming NFL Draft.

“More on Jayden Daniels, as the intrigue picks up: The #Vikings have now scheduled a private meeting with the LSU star and Heisman Trophy winner, per @Agentbutler1,” Rapoport said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

The Vikings currently hold the No. 11 and No. 23 picks in the first round of the NFL Draft, which is obviously far too to expect to select Daniels. However, this meeting would indicate that the team could be interested in possibly trading up to select Daniels or another top quarterback.

It will certainly be interesting to see what happens.
