The Ohio State Buckeyes are entering the 2024 college football season with one of the most talented rosters in the entire county, but it sounds like they will be without one of their running backs.

According to a report from recruiting analyst Pete Nakos of On3, Ohio State running back Dallan Hayden has decided that he will enter the transfer portal when the transfer portal window opens at the end of spring practice.

“Ohio State running back Dallan Hayden will enter the transfer portal in the spring transfer window, a source tells
@On3sports. Tennessee was in the mix during his recruitment but the Volunteers are not expected to be an option,” Nakos said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Hayden showed a lot of potential during his first two seasons with the Buckeyes, but he did not have a clear path to playing time this upcoming season.

With Ohio State returning star running back TreVeyon Hayden and adding Ole Miss Rebels star Quinshon Judkins out of the transfer portal, he was likely set to be no higher than third one the depth chart to begin the season.

We’ll have to see where he signs.
