The Ohio State Buckeyes are widely considered one of the favorites to win the national title this upcoming college football season with one of the most talented rosters in the entire country, but they’ll be losing one of their skill players to the transfer portal this offseason.

According to a report from recruiting insider Pete Nakos of On3, Ohio State Buckeyes running back Dallan Hayen has decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal and leave Ohio State.

“Ohio State running back Dallan Hayden will enter the transfer portal in the spring transfer window, a source tells
@On3sports. Tennessee was in the mix during his recruitment but the Volunteers are not expected to be an option,” Nakos said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

This is obviously some pretty significant news in the college football world, and people had a lot to say about it on social media as a result.

Hayden flashed a lot of potential during his time at Ohio State, but he was expected to be buried behind running backs TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins on the depth chart this offseason. So he’s transferring in pursuit of more playing time.
