Every year, the NFL Players Association puts together a report card for each NFL team and owner based on anonymous survey responses they receive from players on each team. Some owners take it seriously, others try to dismiss all of the concerns. Pittsburgh Steelers team owner Art Rooney II seems to fit in the second category.

During an interview at the NFL’s annual league meetings this week, Art Rooney II dismissed the report card as merely “a media opportunity for the players association.”

“It doesn’t get presented to us, it gets presented to the media so as far as I’m concerned it’s a media opportunity for the players association as opposed to a serious effort of constructive criticism,” Rooney said according to Mark Kaboly of The Athletic.

The Steelers ranked just 28th out of the 32 different NFL teams overall in the survey, and that score was propped up by the glowing reviews of head coach Mike Tomlin. Rooney himself ranked as one of the worst team owners in the entire league, getting a grade of “F” from the players.

But Rooney seems more concerned about the way the issues are presented than he does about actually solving the issues.
