Former President Donald Trump reacts during the Pro-Am tournament Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Notable author Rick Reilly wrote a pretty iconic book exposing former United States President Donald Trump for all the ways he has cheated on the golf course over the years, and now he’s challenging the former president to a golf competition himself – and he’s willing to put money on the line.

In a post on social media, Rick Reilly, who wrote the book “Commander-in-Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump,” challenged Donald Trump, betting $100,000 that he can beat him in a fair golf competition.

“Trump spokesman on me: “Rick fantasizes about having a golf game as good as President Trump.” … Fine. I bet $100k I can beat Trump on a course he DOESN’T own w/ USGA rules officials watching. (Hey, some white-collar prisons have courses.) #CommanderInCheat,” Reilly said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Obviously, this is a pretty bold challenge from Reilly, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media.

Trump did not immediately respond to the challenge from Reilly, but it will certainly be interesting to see whether or not the former president is interested in putting his money where his mouth is after all of his bragging about his abilities as a golfer.
