Notable sportswriter and author Rick Reilly wrote a quite famous New York Times bestselling novel titled “Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump” in which he exposes the former United States President for the ways that he notoriously cheats on the golf course. And now, Reilly is challenging Trump to a bit of a competition.

On Thursday, Rick Reilly made a post on social media challenging Donald Trump to a golf competition, and he’s willing to bet $100,000 that he beats the former president – as long as the competition is fairly officiated and doesn’t take place at one of Trump’s own courses.

“Trump spokesman on me: “Rick fantasizes about having a golf game as good as President Trump.” … Fine. I bet $100k I can beat Trump on a course he DOESN’T own w/ USGA rules officials watching. (Hey, some white-collar prisons have courses.) #CommanderInCheat,” Reilly said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Trump did not immediately respond to the challenge from Reilly and it’s not clear if he ever plans to. But it would certainly be an interesting event where the former president would have a chance to prove a lot of doubters wrong or embarrass himself.
