Ever since the Cleveland Browns traded for wide receiver Amari Cooper ahead of the 2022 NFL season, he has emerged as one of the biggest stars on the team. And it sounds like they plan to keep him on the roster for a long time.

Amari Cooper is in the final year of the five-year contract that he signed with the Dallas Cowboys back in 2020, but it sounds like the Cleveland Browns are planning to bring him back as team general manager Andrew Berry said that the team would like to keep him around “as long as possible.”

“Coop’s a Pro Bowl-caliber receiver. He’s played really well for us the past two years,” Berry said according to Keith Britton of 92.3 The Fan. “He’s a strong presence in the locker room. We love him. Players like that, you want to make sure that you can retain as long as possible.”

Cooper has had two consecutive seasons with more than 1,000 receiving yards with the Browns, including a career-high 1,250 receiving yards this past season.

He’s played the best football of his career since joining the Browns, so it makes sense that the team would want to find a way to keep him as long as possible.
