Over the past few years, the Ohio State Buckeyes have consistently landed some of the most elite wide receiver prospects in the country including Garrett Wilson, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Emeka Egbuka, Marvin Harrison Jr., and most recently Jeremiah Smith. But the Buckeyes just lost one of those prospects in their 2025 recruiting class.

According to Hayes Fawcett of On3, four-star 2025 wide receiver Jayvan Boggs has decomitted from the Ohio State Buckeyes and will explore other options when it comes to his future college football career.

“BREAKING: Four-Star WR Jayvan Boggs has Decommitted from Ohio State, he tells me for @on3recruits. The 6’1 200 WR from Cocoa, FL had been Committed to the Buckeyes since October. Boggs had 93 receptions for 1,504 yards & 24 TDs in his junior season,” Fawcett said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Following the decommitment from Boggs, Ohio State currently has no wide receivers committed in the 2024 recruiting class, but the Buckeyes are recruiting several more elite prospects including five-star wide receivers Jaime Ffrench, Kaliq Lockett, and Dakorien Moore.

We’ll have to see who the Buckeyes ultimately bring in, but wide receivers coach Brian Hartline certainly has a strong track record of bringing in elite receiver prospects.
