The New England Patriots currently hold the No. 3 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, and based on some recent comments from team owner Robert Kraft, it sounds like the team is prepared to select a quarterback with the pick.

While speaking to reporters from the league meetings in Florida on Tuesday, New England Patriots team owner Robert Kraft said that while he will leave all the personnel decisions up to team General Manager Eliot Wolf and head coach Jerod Mayo, he made it very clear that he wants the team to bring in a top-tier, young quarterback.

“I’ll let the team make the decision with what they think is best. One way or another, I’d like to see us get a top-rate young quarterback,” Kraft said according to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe.

The top four quarterbacks in the draft are pretty unanimously considered to be Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels and J.J. McCarthy. Given that the Patriots currently hold the No. 4 overall pick in the draft, they will obviously have a chance to select one of those players, it’s just a matter of which of them are available when the Patriots get to make their pick.
