New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll has become pretty notorious for his outbursts on the sideline, and those antics drew criticism from team co-owner John Mara. As a result, it sounds like Daboll has regrets about the way he has conducted himself in the past.

During an interview session at the NFL league meetings this week, John Mara called out Brian Daboll a bit for his demeanor on the sidelines, saying “there are times when I wish he would tone it down a little bit.” And it sounds like Daboll understands that he could certainly be a little more calm on the sideline.

“Yeah, there are times I wish I handled things a little bit differently, certainly,” Daboll said this week when asked about his sideline outbursts, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN. “So, you continue to grow, continue to evolve.”

Mara also made it quite clear that he did not necessarily want to change who Daboll is a as a person and it hasn’t seemed to impact his ability as a head coach.

Still, it sounds like this is something that the team would like Daboll to be a bit better about going forward, and it sounds like he understands that.
