Heading into the upcoming 2024 NFL season, the Denver Broncos will be in need of a new full-time starting quarterback after parting ways with previous starter Russell Wilson earlier this month. But it sounds like they might not have to look very far to find their next starter.

According to a report from Denver Broncos reporter Mike Klis of 9 News in Denver, the Broncos “seem to be leaning toward” tabbing Jarrett Stidham as their next starting quarterback for the season after he served as the backup quarterback for Russell Wilson last season.

“The Broncos seem to be leaning toward giving Stidham the edge as the No. 1 quarterback and also using their No. 12 overall draft pick to take their quarterback for the future,” Klis wrote for 9 News last week.

This would obviously be a significant decision from the Broncos, and the NFL world had a lot to say about it on social media as a result.

Stidham served as the team’s starting quarterback for the final two games of the season after head coach Sean Payton decided to bench Russell Wilson. In those games, Stidham led the Broncos to a 1-1 record.

We’ll have to see how he performs next season if he is indeed the starter.
