It’s no secret that there has often been bad blood between the players who remained loyal and stayed on the PGA Tour and those who accepted massive money to join Saudi-backed LIV Golf. And that feud appears to extend to Tiger Woods and Jon Rahm.
Earlier this year, Jon Rahm decided to leave the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf, accepting an absolutely massive paycheck to make his defection. And in a recent interview with Marty Smith for ESPN, Rahm opened up about how his move to the Saudi-backed tour has affected his relationship with some of the players who remained loyal to the PGA Tour.
Rahm told Smith that he has spoken to Rory McIlroy since moving to LIV Golf, but it does not seem like he has retained a positive relationship with Tiger Woods.
“Tiger? No, not really,” Rahm said. “I mean, Tiger, I texted him and the people that try to reach out, you know, the process, when I signed and I just let him know, ‘Hey, you know, this is a personal decision.’”
Woods and Rahm were once close, like most top players on The Tour. But it seems like Woods has been giving him the cold shoulder since his move to LIV Golf.
