As the Colorado Buffaloes prepare for the 2024 college football season, it looks like they’ll be doing it without one of their returning defensive linemen.

According to a report from Buffs Beat of Sports Illustrated, Deion Sanders has dismissed Colorado Buffaloes defensive lineman Bishop Thomas from the roster.

“Deion Sanders and Colorado are moving on from Bishop Thomas. The defensive lineman was dismissed from the program after being suspended indefinitely for violating team rules, according to sources,” Buffs Beat reported.

“While no official announcement was made by CU, a final show credit in Amazon Prime’s docuseries ‘Coach Prime’ said Thomas was suspended and his status for next season was ‘still being evaluated’ by Deion Sanders and his staff.”

Thomas initially signed with the Florida State Seminoles out of high school as part of the 2022 high school recruiting class. After just one season with the Seminoles, he decided to transfer from the program and join Sanders and the Buffaloes ahead of the 2023 season.

Throughout the 2023 season with the Buffaloes, Thomas played sparingly as a reserve defensive lineman. He totaled six total tackles and a fumble recovery for the team.

Now that he is leaving the team, he will likely be in the transfer portal looking for a new destination. We’ll have to see where he lands.
