During his introductory press conference with the team, new Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh boldly claimed that he wanted to lead the Chargers to “multiple, multiple championships.” And it sounds like that’s what the team expects of the Harbaugh era, as well.
During his own introductory press conference with the team, new Los Angeles Chargers general manager Joe Horitz sent a pretty clear message to Jim Harbaugh about what the expectations are as he takes over the team, echoing Harbaugh’s claim that they were going to win multiple championships.
“We’re going to get those multiple championships,” Hortiz said, according to Pro Football Talk. “We’re going to do that. We’re going to bring you a trophy, [Chargers owner Dean Spanos]. We’re going to get it done. I have four boys that have two rings. We’re getting the other two, at least, and we’re going to keep trying to go.”
These are obviously high expectations, but Harbaugh has been successful at every level he’s coached at, leading the Michigan Wolverines to a national championship and taking the San Francisco 49ers to a Super Bowl appearance before that. We’ll have to see if Harbaugh can get the Chargers to those “multiple championships.”
