Caitlyn Jenner Syndication: Desert Sun

Last month, transgender golfer Hailey Davidson made some headlines when she won the championship at the NXXT Women’s Classic in Florida, taking a major step toward potentially earning a spot on the LPGA Tour. And prominent transgender woman Caitlyn Jenner is not happy about it.

In a lengthy opinion article that she wrote for The Daily Mail, Caitlyn Jenner had some harsh words for Hailey Davidson as well as the LPGA Tour, calling for Davidson to immediately withdraw from all female competition.

“Transgender athlete Hailey Davidson must recognize that golf is a game of integrity and withdraw from female competition,” Jenner wrote for The Daily Mail. “Then the Ladies Professional Golf Association should follow suit, seize this chance to reverse their grave mistake – and restore the spirit of one of the longest-running women’s professional sports associations in the world.”

Obviously, these words from Jenner caused a lot of reactions on social media.

Jenner, a transgender woman herself, Jenner claims that transgender woman have a physical advantage.

“I am a transgender person who picked up the game of golf in my 50s, playing as an amateur, non-competitively, alongside men and women of all ages. I know for certain that there are physical differences between men and women that cannot be erased by modern medicine – especially after individuals go through male puberty,” Jenner wrote.

We’ll have to see how Davidson and the LPGA Tour responds to Jenner.
