Before Tuesday night’s AFC Championship game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens, there was a little altercation on the field between Ravens kicker Justin Tucker and Kansas City Chiefs stars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes.

As Justin Tucker was warming up on the field, Travis Kelce walked over and threw Tucker’s helmet and tee out of the way to give room for Patrick Mahomes to warm up before the game. And it sounds like Tucker was confused by the incident because he’s been doing the exact same pregame routine for years and has never had a problem before.

“For those that don’t know, the way it works is each team’s kicker goes to the other team’s designated warmup area on the field. For me, it’s usually 90 mins before kickoff. I’ve been doing the exact same thing for 12 years, never really had a problem with anybody,” Tucker told Baltimore Ravens beat writer Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic.

It’s not clear exactly why it was an issue this time, but it’s clear that the Chiefs did not appreciate Tucker being in their spot during warmups.

It will be interesting to see what happens if these teams meet again in the future.
