Even though team owner and general manager Jerry Jones decided that Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy will remain as the team’s head coach next season, his future is a little bit uncertain as his contract with the team will come to an end following next season. But he doesn’t sound concerned about that.

During a press conference this week, Mike McCarthy had a pretty clear message to the team, declaring that he is “very confident” where he currently is with the Dallas Cowboys, even though he didn’t really want to talk about his contract situation with the team.

“I’ve never talked about players’ contracts, coaches’ contracts. I’m not going to start today,” McCarthy said according to Pro Football Talk. “I will say I’m very confident in the direction. I like where we are moving forward, I’m very confident where I am.”

Obviously, McCarthy has had some success leading the team has won 12 games and made the playoffs each of the last three seasons under McCarthy. On the other hand, however, the team has not had much success after getting to the postseason as the Cowboys are just 1-3 in the postseason under McCarthy.

It will certainly be interesting to see what his future holds.
