Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver Tee Higgins is set to become an unrestricted free agent in March and will be one of the top wide receivers on the market. But it sounds like he still expects to be back with the Bengals.

Since the end of the season, teammates Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Burrow both made it clear that they think the Bengals should do whatever it takes to keep Higgins in Cincinnati. Higgins has also made it clear that Cincinnati will be his No. 1 option in free agency.

“It means a lot,” Higgins told Bleacher Report. “Them telling me that they want me to come back, man, it’s family. We’ve been playing together for three or four years now, and I personally would love to be back playing with those guys. It’s not in my hands now, but when the time comes and Cincinnati is there, that’s the number one option right now.”

The Bengals just gave Joe Burrow a large contract to keep him in Cincinnati for the foreseeable future and are likely planning a large contract for Chase, who will be in the last year of his rookie deal next season. We’ll have to see if there is enough salary cap room to keep Higgins.
